The Oscar-winning actor acquired a minority stake in the Texas-based franchise back in 2019 – ahead of them forming part of MLS expansion plans in 2021. McConaughey is a big sports fan and can regularly be found attending Washington Commanders games in NFL and tennis action at the US Open.
